What is Osteopenia?
Osteopenia is a condition where your bone density is lower than normal, but not low enough to be considered Osteoporosis. It is therefore important to focus on maintaining and improving your bone density through lifestyle changes.
What is Osteoporosis?
Osteoporosis is a disease where your bones become weak and more prone to fractures. It affects approximately 1.2 million Australians and is most common in adults over 50. Prevention for Osteoporosis may include a diet rich in calcium, adequate Vitamin D and exercise. For more information about bone health, we suggest visiting the Healthy Bones Australia website here.
